JSS Dental College and Hospital, Mysuru, hosted an insightful one-day workshop titled “AI in Dentistry Masterclass” on 6th June 2025. The event aimed to expose faculty and students to the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in various facets of dentistry, including diagnostics, treatment planning, clinical workflows, and research.

The day began with a formal inauguration, setting the stage for a series of engaging lectures and discussions led by distinguished experts in the field of AI and its integration into healthcare. The event was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of Dr. B. Manjunatha, Registrar, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), who served as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour were Dr. Vikram Patil, Deputy Dean – Research (Clinical) JSS AHER, Dr. M. R. Dhakshaini, Principal, JSS Dental College & Hospital, extending their support and guidance

The academic program comprised five focused sessions covering key aspects of AI integration in dentistry, including its use in diagnosis, treatment planning, research publications, clinical workflows, and future opportunities. The expert speaker panel featured Dr. Lavanya B. N., Founder & CEO of Avinya Techknows, who discussed the role of Generative AI, machine learning, and large language models in healthcare; Mr. Nukala Ayyanna Babu, Consultant at Avinya Techknows, who shared insights from his experience in IT and digital transformation; Dr. Balaji Prabhu B. V., Associate Professor and HOD of CSE (AI & ML) at Malnad College of Engineering, who presented his research on AI applications in healthcare; and Prof. Subramanyam, Advisor at Avinya Techknows and retired HoD of Civil Engineering at Malnad College of Engineering, who offered valuable perspectives from his extensive academic and administrative background, including his tenure as special Officer at VTU. The sessions were interactive and practical, featuring live demonstrations, real-world case discussions, and opportunities for peer engagement. Over 55 participants, including faculty members, postgraduate and undergraduate students, actively took part in the workshop

The success of the workshop was a result of the dedicated efforts of the organizing committee—Dr. Suman Basavaraj, Dr. Chandan S. N., Dr. Aruna G., and Dr. Anupama C., Convenor—whose leadership and coordination played a key role in creating an engaging and innovative learning environment
