The second-semester Master of Public Health (MPH) students from the School of Public Health, JSS Medical College, visited the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Mysuru on 30th May, 2025. This educational field visit provided invaluable exposure to: ?? Sewage Treatment Processes – From preliminary screening to aeration, sedimentation, and further management ?? Technological Integration – Use of automated systems and aerators managing 67.65 MLD of wastewater daily ?? Sustainable Practices – Treated water repurposed for landscape irrigation at local landmarks ?? Public Health Relevance – Reinforcing the role of water quality monitoring, disinfection, and municipal governance in disease prevention The visit emphasized the critical intersection of engineering, environmental stewardship, and public health, equipping future professionals with hands-on insights into urban sanitation systems.
