World No Tobacco Day was observed by JSS Dental College & Hospital on 31st May 2025. This year the Theme for World No Tobacco Day 2025 is “Unmasking the Appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on Tobacco and Nicotine Products

A guest lecture series was organised by Department of Public Health Dentistry & Tobacco Control & Cessation Centre (TCC). The guest speakers were Dr. Praveen Kulkarni, Vice Principal & Professor, Community Medicine, JSS Medical College who delivered a lecture on “Anti-Tobacco interventions at National and Global Levels” and Dr. M.C. Smitha, Associate Professor, Community Medicine, JSS Medical College on “Tobacco Threats!”. The guest speakers were introduced by Dr. S. Sunitha and Dr.R. Sushma, Readers, Department of Public Health Dentistry. Various activities were conducted like Reels making and Essay Writing Competitions for the Undergraduates and Post graduates and prizes were distributed for the same on this event. The chief guest for this event was Dr. B. Manjunatha, Registrar, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research. The guests of honour were Dr.H.P. Jaishankar, Vice Principal, JSS Dental College & Hospital and Dr.M.R. Dhakshaini, Principal, JSS Dental College & Hospital. The report of Events was presented by Dr. M. Maurya, Reader, Department of Public Health Dentistry. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. H.M. Thippeswamy, Head of Department, Department of Public Health Dentistry
